Smriti Mandhana-led RCB Women suffered yet another defeat in WPL 2023 now the team have lost 5 matches on a trot. DC Women chased down the target of 151 runs in 19.4 overs & gave RCB Women a huge setback as now their chances of making it to the playoffs have taken a bad hit. Skipper Smriti Mandhana‘s batting woes continued as once again she was dismissed cheaply. Smriti Mandhana‘s tactics were also quite questionable when she gave the 20th over to Renuka Singh who hasn’t looked at her best in recent times.
DC Women are looking invincible at the moment and it won’t be wrong to say that Meg Lanning’s leadership has been phenomenal. The speciality of DC batters was that they didn’t panic even after playing a string of dot balls. Really good effort by our bowlers to take it till the 20th over- Smriti Mandhana
During the post-match presentation, Smriti Mandhana was asked about the team’s performance.
“Really good effort by our bowlers to take it till the 20th over. Definitely a lot of improvements but a lot of things to work on still. The partnership got us into the game, they both batted brilliantly. They used their experience to get us to a defendable total. Not the best of the starts, including my batting.” said Smriti Mandhana.

“The first 14 overs really hurt us, even 10-15 runs more would have helped. Towards the fag-end of the tournament, the wickets are going to get slower. Even in the last game, spinners got the ball to turn and pace-off and slower balls were working.” she added.
